Author Biography: Clair A. Schwan

Born in Michigan and a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Clair has lived and worked all across the country, and traveled all over the world. He’s been an inspector for the federal government, a security and emergency preparedness consultant, a project lead for technical analyses and software development, an instructor and presenter, a project and business manager, and an entrepreneur. His primary career focus has been that of a maintenance management and technical consultant for the electric utility industry, an industry researcher, and a preparer of written plans, procedures, technical references, software user manuals, and technical reports. He’s also written many hundreds of articles, on a wide range of topics for magazines, newspapers, websites and blogs.

When not writing, he enjoys a country lifestyle on the outskirts of Cheyenne, Wyoming where he raises chickens, tends fruits and vegetables in homemade greenhouses of his own design, completes home improvement and construction projects, and works with his neighbors on vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. He’s also fond of designing and fabricating his own inventions to be more self-reliant and to make life easier and more productive around the homestead.

Occasionally, he spends time in Michigan and Florida visiting with family, and he likes to hang his hat in Texas for extended vacations where he enjoys some of the best inland lake fishing anywhere in the world. Clair also enjoys spending good times with friends, amateur photography, singing karaoke, playing the piano, and brewing his own mead, hard cider, wine and beer.

Some of his most pleasurable pursuits include serving as pack leader for Mr. Lickerson, the most wonderful Boston Terrier rescue dog, and keeping company with his friends and family. Life is good out on the high plains of southeastern Wyoming.
